The new Cinderella movie 2021 is a live action adaptation of the classic fairytale. It stars Camila Cabello in the titular role, as well as Billy Porter and Idina Menzel. The film was directed by Kay Cannon, and was released on February 5, 2021.

The film follows Ella (Cabello), who is living a happy life with her father and mother until her mother dies suddenly. Her father remarries soon after, to a woman named Lady Tremaine (played by Menzel), who has two daughters of her own named Anastasia and Drizella. Unfortunately, Lady Tremaine is not the kind stepmother that Ella had hoped for, and she and her daughters soon begin to mistreat Ella, making her do all the household chores and calling her names.

Things take a turn for the worse when Ella’s father dies unexpectedly, leaving her completely under Lady Tremaine’s control. Desperate to escape her stepmother’s cruelty, Ella dreams of attending the royal ball that is being held in honor of Prince Kit (played by Richard Madden), the future king. When she is seemingly gifted a beautiful gown and glass slippers by her Fairy Godmother (Porter), it appears that Ella’s dreams may just come true…
